About

I’m a proud father of two young children. As you’d imagine, they can occupy a lot of your time and energy. Yet, becoming a father is a privilege – filled with humbling experiences, wondrous moments, and immense joys – that I treasure each day.

I count myself unbelievably fortunate to be married. Still, that union requires a lifetime of hard work and collaboration. Doing it with someone you can respect, relate, and care for deeply makes it all worthwhile.

I spent a decade after college in finance. It taught me how to explain jargons simply, evaluate data critically, and make decisions with incomplete information. After business school, I joined an internet firm trying to help businesses do the same thing.

I have an active interest in wine. Besides the nerdy details, I enjoy the communal aspect of wine, which brings people to the dining table to share not just meals, but stories.

During Covid, I discovered the meditating quality of long-distance running which allows me time to listen, think, and reflect. I started training for road marathon races with 4-hour time goal in 2021. After accumulating 6400-km training distance and 3 attempts, I managed to do that in Seoul in March 2023.

Finally, I’m a Christian. What it means is that I believe — though oftentimes I struggle to — in the Gospel: that I am more sinful than I ever dare admit, but at the same time more loved and accepted than I ever dare hope for. It’s hard to believe that both can be true until one carefully examines the life and claims of Jesus.
